Why it’s PC only
ReSkate’s launcher downloads one specific Steam build of skate. and loads ReSkate.dll, its runtime, into the game (README). Console games only run code signed by Sony or Microsoft, so there’s nothing to load the runtime into. EA’s console versions also only play the live game, which ReSkate leaves alone.
What you can do instead
- Play on a Windows PC. skate. is free on Steam, and ReSkate is free. Setup is in download, install and play.
- Play on Steam Deck or Linux. ReSkate runs through Proton. See Does ReSkate work on Steam Deck?
- Keep your console progress separate. ReSkate saves your skater and progress on your PC, apart from your EA account, so nothing you do in ReSkate shows up on console.
Videos titled “ReSkate on PS5” are either the PC version captured with a controller or not real.
