FAQ /

Can I upload a map someone else made?

Only with the author's permission, and you have to say who gave it and where. Credit alone isn't permission. Conversions of a map you're allowed to share are fine, as long as the original author is credited.

What you can upload

From the upload policy:

  • Maps you made. Your own geometry, layout and textures, built with community tools.
  • Maps someone else made, with their permission. Say who granted it and where: a link to their post, a message, or a license that allows redistribution. Moderators may ask for proof.
  • Conversions of either. Credit the original author in the “Original author” field.

What you can’t

  • Maps you don’t have permission for, even with credit. “I found it on YouTube” is not permission.
  • Retail content, including “modified” retail districts. An edited University is still EA’s University.
  • Executables or scripts of any kind.

If your map was uploaded without permission

Every map has a Report button that works without an account. Choose “This is my work”, say where the original is and leave a contact. Credible claims are removed first and reviewed after (takedowns).

Licenses

When you upload, you pick a license: CC BY 4.0, CC BY-NC 4.0, CC BY-ND 4.0, CC0, or “free to share unmodified with credit”. It covers your own work only. Skate 3 itself, its formats and its trademarks belong to EA.
