FAQ /

Can you play skate. (Skate 4) offline?

Not the live game from EA. ReSkate, a fan-made launcher, runs one pinned Steam build of skate. offline, with your skater, outfits, unlocks and progress saved on your PC. Without Steam signed in it starts as "Unknown Player" in offline mode, with no multiplayer.

The live game

EA’s skate. is a free-to-play live-service game, and it needs EA’s servers and can’t be modded. ReSkate, released October 2, 2026, is the way to play it offline. PC Gamer called it skate. being “de-live serviced”, and reported 350,000 downloads.

How ReSkate does it

  • It runs one pinned Steam build of skate. (build 25414733 as of 1.1.1), with a community runtime instead of EA’s online services. It doesn’t touch EA’s live game or servers.
  • Your settings and saves live in %LOCALAPPDATA%\ReSkate\, apart from the normal game’s.
  • You still need your own copy of skate. on Steam. It’s free, so adding it to your library is enough.
  • Steam signed in gives you ReSkate’s own multiplayer: Steam lobbies and community dedicated servers. Steam closed starts offline mode as “Unknown Player”.

Offline you also get the things the live game doesn’t have: custom maps, a park editor and a built-in trainer.

Set it up

Follow the ReSkate install guide. It takes the launcher zip from GitHub Releases and about 14 GB if the launcher has to download the game build for you. Windows Defender may flag the download; Is ReSkate safe? explains why.
