Blackbelly Skatepark (Splatoon) — 1.0.0

Blackbelly Skatepark from Splatoon (Wii U), ported to skate. with ReSkate. You spawn on the Alpha team's base hill. The full Turf War layout is included: both bowls, the centre tower, the wooden quarter pipes, grates, crates and the inflatable tube men. The surrounding park, basketball court, bridge and Inkopolis skyline are included too.

Conversion notes

  • Geometry, UVs, normals and colour textures come straight from the game's Fld_SkatePark00 BFRES. GX2 textures are deswizzled and decoded locally. Splatoon's normal maps are left out because Skate renders them as blotches.
  • The scale is 1 Splatoon unit = 10 cm, so handrails sit at about 1 m and the arena is about 66 × 136 m.
  • Collision uses the visible faces, so bowls and ramps ride exactly where they look. Graffiti decals, grass tufts and tube men have no collision. The surrounding park ground is solid, and the lake uses native water.
  • Turf War layers (Cmn, Pnt, Day) are used. Ranked-mode-only props are left out.
  • Splatoon's baked lightmaps and team-colour ink shading are not ported. Skate's own lighting is used instead.

Known issues

  • Some Splatoon wall-tops were never meant to be reached, so a few roof surfaces look rough up close.
  • The tube men are static.

Install Blackbelly Skatepark

You need ReSkate and your own copy of skate. on Steam.

  1. Open ReSkateLauncher.exe and go to MODS.
  2. Search for Blackbelly Skatepark and click install. The launcher also installs anything it depends on.
  3. Press PLAY. In game, the MODS tab of the ReSkate menu (Insert) turns it on and off.

Or install it by hand: download the .zip and drop it on the launcher window, or unzip it into its own folder in Mods\ beside Skate.exe.

Maps show up in the ReSkate menu's level list. To join a server running a custom map, you need the same map installed. If the game won't load after installing, see known issues.
