Grind of Skate

Game of S.K.A.T.E., but only grinds and slides count.

Rules

1. Place the start flag and start the match from Throwdowns.
2. The setter sets a grind or slide and must roll away clean.
3. Everyone else, in order, must match that exact trick.
4. A different grind/slide, a bail, or a timeout → a letter of G.R.I.N.D.
5. Flips, manuals, reverts and stalls are ignored: they neither set nor cost a letter.
6. The setter keeps setting while they land. A missed set passes the set on (no letter). A trick already set earlier in the match cannot be set again: it counts as a missed set.
7. Five letters and you are out. Last skater standing wins.

FS/BS, Switch, Fakie and Nollie matter: a FS 50-50 is not a BS 50-50.

How to play (release)

1. Enable the mod (everyone in the session needs the same version).
2. Throwdowns → Grind of Skate.
3. Set players (2–8) / turn time, place the spot.
4. An orange ring appears (the native Spot Battle flag is dropped on purpose).
5. Friends skate into the ring: press E, or hold Y on pad (~0.7 s).
6. Host: E or hold Y in their own ring to start (needs at least 2 skaters). Keyboard bind is remappable: ReSkate Binds → grindskate join.

Forfeit / quit

• Forfeit: Throwdown Panel prompt (D-pad Up, press twice within 3 s). You are out, the match goes on for the others and you keep watching.
• Quit event: the panel's Quit button (or the pause menu's Quit Match). You leave the event. If the host quits, the match ends for everyone.
• Console: grindskate forfeit, grindskate quit.

Dev / solo test

DEV_SOLO = false in plugin/main.lua (release: classic lobby, 2–8 skaters, Join + Start).

Set DEV_SOLO = true only for local testing: 1 player max, the match starts as soon as the flag is placed, and grindskate practice is enabled.
