Work in progress — public preview

This map is not complete and is still being worked on. This is an early public preview of the current playable build, not a finished release.

Known optimization issues remain, similar to FDR. Frame drops and stuttering can occur in dense areas, during tricks, while turning the camera and during traversal. Turning graphics settings down may help for now. More optimization and fixes are planned; performance improvements are not yet verified across the whole map.

Shop interiors and some evening/night areas still need lighting work. Some textures, glass, decals, vehicle materials, collision and grind lines may be incorrect or incomplete. Screenshots show the current build and do not imply that every area is finished. Please report issues with the city, nearest bus stop or landmark, and a screenshot.

Included

  • City environment converted from Session at original source scale.

  • Custom pause map and 12 bus-stop destinations.

  • 136,376 authored grind routes and native riding collision.

  • Revised native lighting; usable ground illumination, pause-map display and bus travel confirmed by the user.

  • Source scenery, foliage and decal inventory retained with documented approximations.

Known limitations

  • The white concrete police-block family near Madison Park uses a first-layer preview; source paint/height blending is unresolved.

  • Some layered materials, procedural graffiti/decal effects and reflections remain approximate; source inventory records incomplete geometry reconstruction.

  • Whole-map collision, grind catches, fixtures and performance are still under review.

Installation

Requires a compatible ReSkate installation. Install or update through the ReSkate mod manager. For a manual install, close skate. and exit ReSkate, then place the ZIP contents directly in Mods/LokiGarage-LokiGarage_New_York/. Keep Win32 and reskate-levels.json at that folder’s root. Enable one version and select LokiGarage New York.

If you previously installed a private test, disable or remove its map folder (LokiGarage-nyc01) before enabling this package. Two copies share the same internal level asset and must not be enabled together. Preserve any personal edits before replacing map files.

Original assets remain credited to their creators. This conversion is not an official Session or skate. release and does not assign a new license to third-party assets.

Install LokiGarage New York

You need ReSkate and your own copy of skate. on Steam.

  1. Open ReSkateLauncher.exe and go to MODS.
  2. Search for LokiGarage New York and click install. The launcher also installs anything it depends on.
  3. Press PLAY. In game, the MODS tab of the ReSkate menu (Insert) turns it on and off.

Or install it by hand: download the .zip and drop it on the launcher window, or unzip it into its own folder in Mods\ beside Skate.exe.

Maps show up in the ReSkate menu's level list. To join a server running a custom map, you need the same map installed. If the game won't load after installing, see known issues.

skatemods doesn't host or review this mod. The download comes straight from Thunderstore. Only install mods you trust, because scripts can run code.
