NEW IN 1.1.0: HANDSTAND EVERYWHERE! Every double grab (both grabs held) now turns into a handstand on your board - on the ground, rolling fakie and in the air, where your skater goes one-handed and flips everyone off. Works on mod maps too.

What it does

On the ground (regular and fakie)

While rolling, hold both grabs: your skater grabs the board with both hands and kicks up into a handstand on the rolling board.

  • Kick-up from the double grab crouch into the handstand
  • The trick shows up as Board Handstand in the trick HUD
  • Lively 10-second handstand loop: legs stay slightly bent and keep moving - scissors, splits, knee bends and balance corrections
  • Steering leans the handstand into the turn
  • Release both grabs to come back down onto the board and ride away
  • Release one grab to drop into a single-hand ground grab, add the second grab again to kick back up

In the air

  • Hold both grabs in the air: one-handed handstand on the board, the free arm goes out to the side and shows the middle finger
  • The air variations of the double grab (left stick forward/back/left/right) all get their own handstand pose
  • Keep holding through the landing: the skater absorbs the impact, brings the arm back to the board and carries on with the ground handstand
  • Let go in the air: feet are back on the board in about half a second for a normal landing

How to use

  1. Install the mod from the ReSkate launcher (MODS > BROWSE) and make sure it is enabled.
  2. Hold both grab buttons - while rolling (forward or fakie) or in the air.

Mod maps

Works on custom/mod maps automatically, including maps released later. The position in your mod list doesn't matter.

Good to know

  • Fingerflip tricks, the one-footer and Skatepedia tricks stay vanilla. Starting a fingerflip out of the handstand shows a short blend.
  • On very short airs you may land before the kick-up is finished - the game then blends straight into the ground handstand.
  • Not compatible with other mods that change the double grab animations. Disable those first.
  • Works fine together with Smoke Session by NOBLE1337.
  • Built for the current supported skate. build. After a game update the mod may show as OUTDATED until it is rebuilt.

Install Board Handstand

You need ReSkate and your own copy of skate. on Steam.

  1. Open ReSkateLauncher.exe and go to MODS.
  2. Search for Board Handstand and click install. The launcher also installs anything it depends on.
  3. Press PLAY. In game, the MODS tab of the ReSkate menu (Insert) turns it on and off.

Or install it by hand: download the .zip and drop it on the launcher window, or unzip it into its own folder in Mods\ beside Skate.exe.

Maps show up in the ReSkate menu's level list. To join a server running a custom map, you need the same map installed. If the game won't load after installing, see known issues.
