From the author's README on Thunderstore

The whole Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 4 island, rebuilt as a skateable level for Skate.

Features

  • The full island: towns, roads, cliffs, forests, Loot Lake, the meteor crater and Spawn Island.
  • Fast travel to 16 spots: Risky Reels Skatepark, Tilted Towers, Pleasant Park, Dusty Divot, Retail Row, Salty Springs, Loot Lake, Greasy Grove, Moisty Mire, Wailing Woods, Flush Factory, Lucky Landing, Fatal Fields, Anarchy Acres, Shifty Shafts and Spawn Island.
  • About 52,000 grind edges on ledges, curbs, benches, fences, planters, low walls, roof edges and cars.
  • A skatepark next to Risky Reels: pool bowl, funbox, ledge, flat bar and quarter pipe.
  • Its own pause-menu map and a Fortnite loading screen.
  • The map streams in 100 m chunks as you skate.

Requirements

  • Skate (PC) with ReSkate installed.
  • About 3 GB of free disk space.
  • A graphics card with 6 GB of video memory or more is recommended.

Install

From the ReSkate launcher: find the map in the launcher's Thunderstore list and install it.

By hand:

  1. Extract the zip. You get a folder with layout.toc, Win32 and manifest.json in it.
  2. Move that folder into the Mods folder next to ReSkateLauncher.exe.
  3. Delete any older copy of this map from Mods first, including the old "Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 4" listing (folders like ReskateFortnite-Chapter1-Season4, ...-Fortnite_Chapter_1_Season_4 or Fortnite_Chapter_1_Season_4-1.1.0). Two copies of the same map cannot be merged, and the map then does not load.
  4. Open the ReSkate launcher, check that the map is enabled in the Mod Manager, and press Play.

How to play

  1. In the hub, press Insert for the ReSkate menu, choose Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 4 as the destination on the Map tab and press Let's Skate.
  2. Fast travel: press M to open the map, hover a location, and hold T.

Troubleshooting

  • "... is not a readable .zip file": 1.1.0's zip used the Zip64 format; 1.2.0's is a standard zip. If your launcher still refuses it, extract it yourself and install it by hand (see above).
  • "did not load: the game could not merge it cleanly": there are two copies of this map in Mods. Keep only the newest.
  • DirectX error / crash on load (DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED / RESET, E_OUTOFMEMORY): the graphics card ran out of video memory. 1.2.0 needs far less than 1.1.0. If it still happens, lower the game's texture quality, disable other big mods (maps, texture packs) while you play this one, and update your graphics driver.
  • Loading takes a long time the first time: the game builds its shader cache once; later loads are faster.
  • Forward / Up Boost does nothing: ReSkate's boosts only work while you are on your board.
  • Multiplayer: everyone in the session needs the same version of the map.

Changelog

1.2.0

  • Much lighter: the map needs about a fifth of the texture memory it did (the cause of the DirectX crashes on 4-8 GB graphics cards) and the download is about 40% smaller. Towns, roads, sidewalks and the ground around the fast-travel stops keep their sharp textures.
  • The download is a standard zip again. 1.1.0's 4.9 GB zip needed the Zip64 format, which the ReSkate launcher reported as "not a readable .zip file".
  • Trees: no more black treetops. ReSkate Studio's foliage shader drew most of the island's trees, bushes and flowers black or half black, even at midday. They now use the standard shader with their leaf cut-outs. The big leafy trees (Wailing Woods, Pleasant Park, Risky Reels) also have Fortnite's green canopy colours instead of grey or purple, and the medium trees are no longer neon yellow-green.
  • Cars, RVs, pickups, trucks, shipping containers, dumpsters, coolers and tents get Fortnite's paint colours instead of plain white or grey, each with its own colour. The old pickups get two-tone paint (body plus a lighter trim) and keep their wooden beds.
  • Small props and vehicles have simpler collision shapes (smoother to ride against, lighter physics).
  • Rebuilt with the latest ReSkate Studio (its shader memory fix and the fix for texture corruption in the distance).

1.1.0

  • New: Risky Reels Skatepark in the empty pit next to Risky Reels: a pool bowl with metal coping, a funbox, a ledge, a flat bar and a long quarter pipe, with its own fast-travel stop.
  • Buildings now use the textures Fortnite gives each piece (wood, tile, concrete, roof tar, brick variations) instead of the generic blue checker floors and orange cartoon brick.
  • Floors, walkways, docks, crates and other flat pieces have smooth collision, so planks, plates and brick bevels no longer stop the board.
  • Dusty Divot's crater floor is brown dirt instead of near-white.
  • Cliffs: no more scattered green grass triangles on cliff faces and crater rims.
  • Rooftops (Tilted Towers and other towns) have a concrete roof instead of the blue indoor floor tiles that looked like a missing texture.
  • Water: lakes, the swamp and streams now show water; muddy shorelines show mud. Lake water no longer reaches under the land, so you don't sink and "swim" on shores like Loot Lake's.
  • Chain-link fences (Loot Lake and elsewhere) are solid; you can no longer slip through them.
  • Building floors and walls have matching skate surfaces (wood, tile, brick, concrete, metal, carpet), so they sound and ride like they look.
  • The pause-menu map shows the new skatepark.
  • Lighter far-distance models for better performance.

1.0.0

  • First release.

Known issues

  • Stairs, roofs, trees and bushes have no grind edges on purpose; a few odd props may also be missing them.
  • Lawns and fields are grass, so the board slows down on them like on any grass in Skate.
  • Some players see shadows flicker while moving. The cause is not found yet.
  • The map was built for the Skate version ReSkate supports as of 15 October 2026. A later game update may stop it from loading until it is rebuilt.

Install Fortnite Season 4 Map

You need ReSkate and your own copy of skate. on Steam.

  1. Open ReSkateLauncher.exe and go to MODS.
  2. Search for Fortnite Season 4 Map and click install. The launcher also installs anything it depends on.
  3. Press PLAY. In game, the MODS tab of the ReSkate menu (Insert) turns it on and off.

Or install it by hand: download the .zip and drop it on the launcher window, or unzip it into its own folder in Mods\ beside Skate.exe.
