Choose which side you pop out of a grind using LT or RT.
In skate, your grind exit direction and spin are both tied to your left stick input.
This mod lets you control your grind exit direction independently of your spin. It works alongside the existing controls rather than replacing them.
How to use it
- Start a grind.
- Hold LT to exit left or RT to exit right.
- Pop out with any trick.
Settings
- Input mode: Left / Right (default) uses your direction of travel. Toe / Heel uses your skater's toe and heel sides instead, which requires your stance to be set.
- Pop-out strength: Controls how far you pop to the side. Default is 50%. Lower it for rails near walls, or set it to 100% for the game's full exit distance.
- Grab guard: Prevents the held trigger from triggering a grab. Release it and press it again in the air if you want to grab.
- Lean guard: Prevents the game's normal lean exit from pulling your board towards the rail while spinning.
Controller Compatibility
This mod supports most XInput (Xbox) and PlayStation style controllers.
Some controllers, particularly generic ones, may have issues with LT/RT inputs not being detected. If your controller supports XInput mode, switching to it may fix the issue.
I'm working on adding LT/RT calibration to improve compatibility with more controllers.
Install Grind Exits
You need ReSkate and your own copy of skate. on Steam.
- Open
ReSkateLauncher.exeand go to MODS. - Search for Grind Exits and click install. The launcher also installs anything it depends on.
- Press PLAY. In game, the MODS tab of the ReSkate menu (Insert) turns it on and off.
Or install it by hand: download the .zip and drop it on the launcher window, or unzip it into its own folder in Mods\ beside Skate.exe.
Maps show up in the ReSkate menu's level list. To join a server running a custom map, you need the same map installed. If the game won't load after installing, see known issues.
skatemods doesn't host or review this mod. The download comes straight from Thunderstore. Only install mods you trust, because scripts can run code.
