FDR — ReSkate map

Original map by MikeDanHan and Demzilla. Ported to ReSkate by Stoney.

FDR's street plaza and surrounding skate spots adapted for ReSkate, based on the V58 development map.

Included

  • Approximately 8% larger world scale with aligned collision and spawn.
  • Rails and grindable obstacles, including concrete planter ledges and metal rails.
  • Metal rail, brick-bank, concrete grind and tile-like pavement audio assignments.
  • Updated tree-planter texture mapping and narrow outer-bevel wax marks (V58).
  • Pedestrian walking routes, puddles and nighttime fixtures.
  • Visible frosted windows using the V48 solid-glass setup, avoiding the problematic transparent material.

Installation

Install through ReSkate's launcher/mod browser, or extract this compiled Thunderstore package into its own folder under the game's Mods directory. The reskate-levels.json, layout.toc, initfs_win32, and Win32 folder must be directly inside the map's mod directory.

Select FDR from the custom map list. Disable or remove earlier local FDR development builds (notably forever_doing_stuff_first_pass) before enabling this Thunderstore package; running two copies of the same map may cause conflicts. Restart ReSkate after switching between map packages.

Known limitations

  • Medium/Low graphics-quality nighttime lighting is not verified and may fail to illuminate the scene; use High as a fallback.
  • V58 wax and concrete/brick sound assignments have not yet been confirmed visually or audibly in-game after the latest changes.
  • Some locations have previously exhibited performance stutter, vegetation flicker or texture issues; this release does not claim those are all resolved.
  • Glass is intentionally visible and frosted/opaque, not optically transparent.

Install FDR

You need ReSkate and your own copy of skate. on Steam.

  1. Open ReSkateLauncher.exe and go to MODS.
  2. Search for FDR and click install. The launcher also installs anything it depends on.
  3. Press PLAY. In game, the MODS tab of the ReSkate menu (Insert) turns it on and off.

Or install it by hand: download the .zip and drop it on the launcher window, or unzip it into its own folder in Mods\ beside Skate.exe.

Maps show up in the ReSkate menu's level list. To join a server running a custom map, you need the same map installed. If the game won't load after installing, see known issues.

skatemods doesn't host or review this mod. The download comes straight from Thunderstore. Only install mods you trust, because scripts can run code.
