ReSkate 2.0.0
Released Oct 9, 2026. ReSkate's GitHub releases have no notes, so this lists the commits since v1.1.8, minus merges.
This isn't the current version. The launcher updates itself when it starts; the changelog starts with the newest release.
- Hall of Meat toggle in the overlay; objects placed in a burst are deleted, not held
- The creator tag reads "Content Creator"
- Dedicated servers: everything goes through the server; object burst hold; names for bans by ID
- Add Hall of Meat: the bones a bail hurt and its Meat score
- Skater effects on other players: costume and board trails, and contact sparks and dust
- Binds for first person, the HUD, voice chat, time of day, No Bail, challenges, nametags and dots
- Server: remove players who have been away too long
- Server: object scaling can be turned off
- Launcher: mod overviews show the README, in a larger two-column layout
- Vote card above chat with rebindable Yes and No; fix full servers breaking on extra slots
- Overlay: the PlayStation pad reader no longer needs the rest of the overlay to link
- Build the mesh tests again: their fake transport takes the direct address
- Server: its chat lines in colours the owner chooses; protocol 45
- server: admin commands in their own file; one update loop for both platforms.
- Keep the board wear toggle on across map changes and restarts
- Chat: server lines stand out in violet
- Sync latest bind changes, added freecam bind, tp to freecam bind, and off board up boost
- Launcher: the focus goes back to the mod after an install instead of the window buttons
- Launcher: the trackpad pointer measures from where the stick rests, so it does not creep
- Launcher: steadier trackpad pointer and list navigation
- Launcher: log why Steam counts as offline
- Launcher: controller starts on PLAY and the open tab; rows and side moves in lists
- Name the file and the reason when Linux cannot open it for SHA-256
- Trainer: teleport to the pause-map waypoint, onto the surface there
- Add a Pterodactyl egg for the Linux dedicated server
- Fix Forward Boost direction while riding Fakie
- Document running the game on Linux through Proton
- Keep the game off EA's online services
- Leave out a mod whose TOC cannot be read instead of every mod
- Refuse a build prefix longer than the buffer it is read into
- Rebuild the patch when the last merge round leaves a mod out
- Flush a merged file before publishing it
- Check a mod's table counts against the file before sizing anything by them
- Sort the scoring check's asset list before removing duplicates
- Leave out a mod whose archive number does not fit in 16 bits
- Accept a byte-order mark in reskate-levels.json
- Add controller park randomization and cancel guest startup rolls
- Launcher: the left stick scrolls under the focus or the pointer
- Launcher: controller focus stays inside pages; mouse cursor hides while it moves
- Launcher: controller reaches every panel; pad pointer without cursor warps
- Launcher: controller navigation and the Steam Deck trackpad as a mouse
- Add random community park loading and launch randomization
- Keep the first-person view level and steady; optional third person on foot
A change in this release mentions the multiplayer protocol. Players and servers on different protocol versions can't play together, so update the launcher and your server.
