Filmer is a camera mod inspired by real skate videos. Whether you're too lazy for the replay editor and just want to skate around, or you need some cool B-roll for an edit, Filmer has you covered. Access Filmer in the plugins tab of ReSkate menu.

Modes

Filmer (filmer mode follow): Skate from the perspective of a follow cam. With Filmer in the camera cycle on (CONTROLS, on by default) the game's camera height button (the right stick click) goes high, low, ReSkate's first person (when that is in the cycle), the Filmer, and back to high. The camera will follow you, whilst avoiding objects and large drops, making for a realistic(ish) effect. There are lots of options for filming style, and the camera can stop at drops and stair sets and film you riding away. It points the camera like a person. Left stick click swaps between left and right following. Film yourself, or anyone in the session (filmer subject <name>).
You film (filmer mode film): your skater is the filmer. The left stick rides; the right stick points the camera (the game stops seeing it, so no flicks while you film). The aim assist keeps a friend in frame (the closest one ahead, or filmer target <name>) and the stick shifts the framing. Your skater wears the camcorder and holds it in both hands, crouched (Knee bend) and hunched (Hunch) over it, and the others see it held where the picture is taken from: out in front at the chest aimed level, down at the stomach aimed at the ground, up over the head aimed at the sky. On foot the upper body holds still, the board is out of sight, and pushing the camera past square off your side turns your whole body round after it. Cruise control keeps you skating with whoever you're filming.
The look (EFFECTS): the screen look's fisheye bend, 4:3, the VX colour, tape faults, date stamp and viewfinder, with Clean / VX1000 / Worn tape presets. The lens slap (LB by default) ends a clip.

Install Filmer

You need ReSkate and your own copy of skate. on Steam.

Open ReSkateLauncher.exe and go to MODS.
Search for Filmer and click install. The launcher also installs anything it depends on.
Press PLAY. In game, the MODS tab of the ReSkate menu (Insert) turns it on and off.

Or install it by hand: download the .zip and drop it on the launcher window, or unzip it into its own folder in Mods\ beside Skate.exe.

Maps show up in the ReSkate menu's level list. To join a server running a custom map, you need the same map installed. If the game won't load after installing, see known issues.

skatemods doesn't host or review this mod. The download comes straight from Thunderstore. Only install mods you trust, because scripts can run code.
