Hide and seek on Spades Spot servers, with your role and the time on your HUD. Join a Spades Spot server with ReSkate 2.1.2 or newer and type /hns.

ReSkate 2.1.3 and newer ask once whether to turn the plugin on: choose Turn on.

How it works

  • /hns opens a sign-up: everyone who types /hns in the next 30 s plays (at least 3).
  • One seeker for every 6 players. Everyone is sent to the start.
  • Hide phase (45 s): hiders get out of sight. Seekers wait at the start and see no hider.
  • Seek phase (5 min): a seeker sees a hider only within 25 m. Stay within 3 m of a hider for a second to find them - the found hider seeks too.
  • Play area: 200 m around the start. Outside it every seeker sees you; stay out for 60 s and you're out.
  • Ping: every 45 s of seeking the seekers see every hider for a moment (you're warned 5 s before).
  • The last hider wins - or every hider still hidden when the time is up.
  • Noclip is off for everyone in a round. /hns stop stops your round.

The HUD shows your role, the time left, how many hiders are left, the ping and the play area. Its size is set with SpadesSpot: ReSkate menu (Insert) > PLUGINS > Spades Spot > HUD size.

Without this mod

You still play on Spades Spot: you get cards and chat lines instead of the HUD.

For server owners

The server copy runs the round on a dedicated server (hns status, hns stop, hns test on the console; settings in config.json). It needs ReSkate 2.1.2 (reskate.server.hide).

Install SpadesHideAndSeek

You need ReSkate and your own copy of skate. on Steam.

  1. Open ReSkateLauncher.exe and go to MODS.
  2. Search for SpadesHideAndSeek and click install. The launcher also installs anything it depends on.
  3. Press PLAY. In game, the MODS tab of the ReSkate menu (Insert) turns it on and off.

Or install it by hand: download the .zip and drop it on the launcher window, or unzip it into its own folder in Mods\ beside Skate.exe.

Maps show up in the ReSkate menu's level list. To join a server running a custom map, you need the same map installed. If the game won't load after installing, see known issues.
