Canals (CS:GO) — 1.2.0

CS:GO's de_canals as a skate map for Skate with ReSkate. Venice streets, bridges, plazas and the drained canal beds are all skateable, with full prop detail kept on the arches, domes and spires.

New in 1.2.0

• Full-resolution textures: every texture now keeps its original size instead of being capped at 1024 px.
• Built with the latest ReSkate Studio, which fixes black textures with PNG images.

New in 1.1.0

• Sharper textures everywhere: every texture is now up to 1024 px, where most props were held at 512 px before.
• The boats in the drained canals now rest on the canal floor instead of floating at the old water level, so their edges are low enough to grind.

About the black props

In 1.0.x, many props showed up black (with a shiny edge) until you skated close to them. Raising textures above 512 px made it worse, so 1.0.x kept most textures at 512 px as a workaround. The cause was a bug in ReSkate Studio, the tool that builds the map, not the map itself. Studio's latest update fixed it (texture mip offset, materials with a single base texture, and vertex colours), and with the map rebuilt in the new Studio the props load correctly at full 1024 px.

New in 1.0.1

• The mooring poles are gone from the drained canals, and the trash, loose boards and floating debris in the canal beds are cleared out.
• Low street clutter (signs, cans, bottles, food and trash piles, buckets) no longer stops your board; you roll right through it.

Notes

• Uses the original CS:GO lighting (no Enlighten).
• The police barriers are removed, so every street is open.
• Invisible walls keep you inside the playable area.
