From the author's README on Thunderstore

Set up your board: trucks from Locked to Daewon-loose, hanging and swinging with their own weight, and wheels from 40 mm to 110 mm. The game's own wheels are 58 mm.

Coming from Wheel Size? This is the same mod with trucks added; Wheel Size will be deprecated. Install this one and switch Wheel Size off (or remove it) in the mod manager: with both on they fight over your board. Your Wheel Size settings don't carry over, so set your size again here.

  • The wheels are drawn that size and still spin as you roll.
  • Common sizes or any size. Pick a common size (50 mm street up to 100 mm), or drag the slider anywhere from 40 to 110 mm.
  • Width. It scales with the size to start with, so a wheel twice as tall is twice as wide. Switch that off to set the width yourself, 20 to 70 mm, or pick a quick width: the game's (32 mm), halfway to in proportion, or in proportion.
  • You stand on them. On big wheels the board and your skater are drawn higher. On small ones they're drawn lower. Either way the wheels stand on the ground. The game's physics keeps its own wheels; only what you see changes.
  • See it as you set it. While the WHEELS tab is open, a preview on the right of the screen shows your wheel next to the game's, from the side and from the front, and how much higher or lower the board is drawn.

When a wheel meets the deck

Small wheels turn more and big wheels less, the way their size would let them. Lean hard on big wheels and they reach the deck. Pick what happens then:

Choice What it does
Clip through the wheels pass through the deck, and big wheels turn as freely as the game's
Limit turning (default) the trucks stop leaning where the wheels meet the deck, so the bigger the wheels the less you turn, like big wheels without risers
Wheel bite you turn as Limit turning does, and while a wheel rubs the deck it slows you down: light, like real life, or harsh. With Hard bites throw you on, a deep bite at speed stops the board and you go down

How much of the game's steering the wheels leave you (the TRUCKS tab shows it, with the trucks' share, as You turn):

Wheel 40 mm 46 mm 52 mm 58 mm 65 mm 70 mm 80 mm 90 mm 100 mm and up
Limit turning, Wheel bite 145% 126% 112% 100% 86% 76% 58% 40% 25%
Clip through 145% 126% 112% 100% 100% 100% 100% 100% 100%

The game's own wheels lean about 15° on a hard carve and only just clear the deck.

Trucks

Pick how tight your trucks are, from Daewon (as loose as they go, like Daewon Song's) through the Game's to Locked (no turning at all), or anywhere from -100 to 100:

Preset Daewon Loose Soft Game's Firm Tight Locked
Tightness -100 -60 -30 0 30 60 100
Spring back to centre -0.1x (pushes off centre) 0.4x 0.63x 1x 1.6x 2.5x 8x
Damping of the swing 0 0.56x 0.75x 1x 1.34x 1.8x 4x
How far they twist 3x 1.5x 1.22x 1x 0.82x 0.67x 0.05x
Steering 1.8x 1.35x 1.16x 1x 0.86x 0.74x 0

Each is the game's value times that much, so anything you set in the trainer is kept under it. Switch off Steering with it to keep the steering the wheels' alone. The wheels' turning and the trucks' multiply: 100 mm wheels (25%) on tight trucks (74%) turn 19% as much as the game's. Loose trucks lean further, so big wheels reach the deck sooner.

Looser than Soft, a truck with its wheels off the ground moves under its own weight: both in the air, the raised one in a manual, the one off the rail in a grind (the raised end in a 5-0, nosegrind or crooked, the dropped one in a smith or feeble; neither in a 50-50), both in a boardslide, lipslide, noseslide or tailslide, and both while you carry the board. It hangs to the low side, swings out against a turn's pull and shifts across as you carve the other way, flops as the board spins, and gets kicked when you pop. The looser, the more: on Daewon it hangs almost wherever its weight takes it. With Limit turning or Wheel bite it swings until a wheel slaps the deck and bounces back off it; with Clip through it goes as far as 60 degrees. It never swings a wheel into the floor: a wheel that comes down first stops its truck and pushes it back level. Back on the ground it settles onto the game's animation. Only you see it (the game's physics has no free trucks to loosen).

On Daewon the trucks' spring is set below 0, so instead of pulling a truck back to centre it lets it fall whichever way its weight and your momentum take it, on the ground too.

Baseplates stay on the deck. With a deck pack whose trucks carry their baseplates on their own bones (WideDeck13's), the baseplate stays bolted to the deck while the hanger swings, leans or is held at the deck.

If you don't feel a change on the ground, bail or respawn: the game may only read its truck values for a new board.

Settings

In the menu's PLUGINS section, under Truck Tightness & Wheels, on two tabs: WHEELS (size, width, preview, ride height) and TRUCKS (tightness, steering, what happens when a wheel meets the deck, and the physics values if you want to see them):

Setting Choices
Wheel Size on or off
Wheel size 40 to 110 mm, or a common size
Preview on (default): your wheel next to the game's, on the right of the screen while the page is open
Width scales with the size on (default), or off to set the width: 20 to 70 mm, or a quick width
Stand on the wheels on (default): the wheels stand on the ground. Off: the board stays at the game's height
Deck contact clip through, limit turning (default) or wheel bite
Bite, Hard bites throw you how hard a bite slows you, and whether a deep one bails you (wheel bite only)
Tightness daewon, loose, soft, the game's (default), firm, tight, locked, or -100 to 100
Steering with it on (default): loose trucks turn more, tight ones less, Locked not at all. Off: only the trucks change

Your settings are kept between sessions.

trucks find truck lists the game's physics values whose name has those words

Good to know

  • On the map the game starts in, or after loading a map from ReSkate's MAP page, your wheels can stay the game's size. If that happens, the page and a message say so: load a different map from the game's pause menu. ReSkate's MAP page, or loading the same map again, doesn't help.
  • Carried trucks hang only if ReSkate draws the board in your hands through its board hook, which hasn't been seen yet. The log says which, once a map, after you walk a couple of metres with it: "On foot: ... it is drawn as carried" or "... it isn't".
  • The preview is drawn behind ReSkate's menu, so with the menu full screen, or moved over to the right, it's covered.
  • You see your wheel size, in your replays too. Other players see your board with the game's wheels (see Multiplayer).

Multiplayer

Not tested with other players yet. In a multiplayer game a warning at the top of the page says what's off, and the page notes it by each setting that doesn't carry over.

In a multiplayer game
Wheel size, width, ride height on your screen only: other players see the game's wheels on your board, even if they have this mod
Loose trucks swinging on your screen only
Tightness, Steering with it off: the trucks and the steering stay the game's, because players share their physics
How much the wheels let you turn off: you turn as the game's wheels do
Wheels meeting the deck the wheels still stop at the deck on your screen
Wheel bite, Hard bites throw you off: a bite doesn't slow you or throw you
Preview works

Leave the game and your settings come back on their own.

Known issues

  • On a hard landing with wheels far from the game's size, your feet can dip into the deck for a moment: the board's height is drawn a frame behind the animation.
  • With Hard bites throw you on, a bite while rolling backwards (after a 180) bails you forward, not the way you're rolling. A plugin can't choose which way you fall.
  • On the map the game starts in, or after a map loaded from ReSkate's MAP page, the wheels can stay the game's size until you load a different map from the game's pause menu (see above).

What you need

ReSkate 2.1.3 or newer (it has reskate.board.scale, which draws the wheels at your size). On an older ReSkate the page says to update ReSkate, and the plugin changes nothing. The first time it runs, ReSkate asks you to approve it.

It's a sandboxed ReSkate plugin (the plugin folder, no DLL). It:

  • sizes your board's wheels and draws the board and your skater higher on big wheels and lower on small ones
  • turns the game's steering down (big wheels, tight trucks) or up (small wheels, loose trucks) in your own physics
  • sets your trucks' spring, damping and twist in your own physics
  • draws loose trucks hanging and swinging while their wheels are off the ground, with their baseplates kept on the deck
  • looks for the floor under a swinging truck's wheels (a ray straight down from each), so they don't go into it
  • slows you, or bails you, for wheel bite
  • checks whether the old Wheel Size mod is still on, to ask you to switch it off (it reads the list of installed mods)
  • adds its page to the menu, two console commands (wheels, trucks) and a message when it needs another map
  • draws the preview while its page is open
  • saves its settings

Nothing else.
